beautiful battery

saying that the battery is beautiful isnt in the literal sense he is just saying that it did a good job our lingo isnt as colourful as some but its to the point and honest.

Re: Xperia Z battery life

Same here, my Note 2 on average gives me 5hrs screen on, at a push I can get slightly higher but my brightness has to be really low. Those shots above look good to me, they are without stamina mode on aren't they?

Your note is badly configured I'd say. With very heavy usage I have17hrs uptime and screen on time of 10hrs..so no Note 2 battery is not average.

Gotta Agree, when I had Note 2 battery life easily 8 hours + on screen time, I never had to worry about charging it at all.

With my Nexus 4, I can achieve 4-5hour on screen time, this including certain tweaks in areas.

"There’s a lot to like about the Sony Xperia Z. It is the strongest Android phone that Sony has produced to date, fusing power, design and features. We don’t find Sony’s customisations to be too intrusive and the attention to battery life is to be welcomed. The practical waterproofing also means you don't have to worry when you drop your phone in the toilet, or spill a pint on it, and these things happen.

It’s not perfect, however, and the camera doesn’t appear to offer much over previous flagship Xperia devices. It’s a reasonable performer, however, but with rivals focusing all their attention on the camera, it’s not the greatest feature of the Z.

However, the display size, in this design of handset we like a lot. With some larger devices, you feel like you’re compromising to for the sake of having a large display. The Sony Xperia Z plays its hand nicely, giving you that large screen experience, battery life that’s well managed and overall performance that makes daily use a pleasure."

I have used now my XZ now some days.

on the first day I was just  and though I can see the percentage numbers go down every minute on normal use.
now after 4+ days and few charges its lot better.
I can use it 2days w/o stamina mode in moderate use(email/whatsapp/browsing/../no gaming no wlan) and so its not worse than my Note I had before.

After using the phone for over a week now I can honestly say that:

- Lasts 6-8 hours of constant heavy use, as in toy-mode
- Lasts 1 full day, as in 6:00 to 22:00 of heavy use
- Lasts over 48 hours when used as a phone, as in 1-2 hours of mp3, texts, few phone calls

It could be better, battery life could always be better, but i'm pretty happy with it. It gets me through the day without worrying about saving energy - that's all I asked for.

A friend of mine already got his Z and we talk everyday on whatsapp. He unplugged the device before 10 in the morning at at 12 his battery percentage dropped from 100 to 99%. He said he listened to 10 songs, checked facebook, instagram and used another app a bit. Always connected to internet (I guess mostly wifi at home and 3G when on the move).

He actually send me a screenshot of his battery stats, which showed he wasn't lying (2h and something on standby, 99%). I told him to look into his screen on time and he said 30 minutes.

Now this sounds incredible, but even so he wouldn't really have a reason to lie to me. Even if the battery life turns out a little bit worse then what he said, it would be very nice.

I'm getting my own XZ tomorrow so will post here with first impressions.

edit: also, he ended the day late at night with 10% left.

Stamina mode is so awesome!

i charged the phone 'till 11pm up to 100%, then went to bed. to be honest, i put the phone to airplane mode overnight. after 8 hours of sleep, i turned on the screen: battery still at 100%. is this possible?

then turned off airplane mode. now it's 9:50am, so using 3g for nearly 3 hours and guess....the phone is still on 100%! to be honest again, i didn't do anything with the phone, except turning on the (lock)screen 2-3 times for checking on new sms. that'all.

amazing.

Re: Xperia Z battery life

Thats bc youre on 3G but not using the phone, stamina mode cuts data and yes that standby mode is impressive.

Low battery mode needs lil config for how you want he phone to behave when it reaches 30% charge: screen brightness, turn off data, wifi, gps, sync...

Btw watch out not to run out of power if you need the phone, charge before it reaches 0: if the phone turns itself off at 0%, you wont be able to reboot at all, even plugged in, until you let it charge for 15 minutes.
Can be annoying in some situations.
