Root, yes. I'll have to look and see what I used. If you look around here you wI'll find mention of a Japanese, or is it Chinese?, program. Follow the directions and put all the ADB stuff in the folder that doesn't have it. My issues were all ADB driver related so make sure that is good.Im updated to 10.3.1E.0.191 and was wanting to know if i can root and unlock bootloader yet
Yeah I can't seem to get adb to recognize my phoneRoot, yes. I'll have to look and see what I used. If you look around here you wI'll find mention of a Japanese, or is it Chinese?, program. Judging by your firmware version I expect you are running a mobile C6606. As far as I know bootloader cannot be unlocked on a C6606.
I wish we C6606 users would get 4.3 like the rest.

You don't need unlocked bootloader for root but you need it for custom roms I think. You can just root your phone and then use Xposed instaler for all kinds of tweaks and customizations. You will lose the "important" things with unlocked bootloader. Anyway, check here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2656698Hi!
I'm new to Sony Xperia Z.. Just updated it to 10.4.1.B.0.101 and now I'm confuse on what should I do first. Of course I choose android because of the customization but before that I have things to deal first. As a start, What should go first? Should I root the phone first or should I unlock the bootloader first? I'm trying to answer the question on my own but reading threads only leads me to nowhere kinda new to Sony Phones that's why..
Thanks in advance for who will response! Have a nice day everyone!
It will all make sense at some point. I struggled to get all this stuff sorted. just keep reading and read instructions carefully. I finally did that and now im rooted and playing around with custom roms. The information is there its just makings sense of it all and making sure the directions are all followed. Thanks for this very useful thread DoomLord but unfortunately, I'm still having a problem rooting my Xperia Z. Tsk tsk.
Yeah, I'd better be keep on reading about this stuff to sort everything. Thanks Sir.It will all make sense at some point. Flashmode and fastboot mode has nothing to do with what you have installed on your phone.I think the topic is kinda outdated as the new ROM versions work other way somehow. Unlock and relock bootloader is very easy with FlashTool, rooting with Towelroot, but I´m just not able to flash custom ROMs, because can´t boot into fastboot / flashmode with key combination. With flashtool yes, but the ROM is .zip and can´t use flashtool only for .ftf. As I´ve read on a German board, we need to flash an older version stock ROM, which allows boot into flash mode and then follow as mentioned by the topic starter. Please confirm it! Thx
Sure. I was about to say, that the newer ROM versions not allow key combinations. It always reboots normal mode unlike the previous versions.Flashmode and fastboot mode has nothing to do with what you have installed on your phone.
