can you please give a link for the flashtool? thanks!
Download flashtools here:
http://www.flashtool.net/downloads_windows.php
Then you will need the firmware of your device, you can find here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/list-stock-firmwares-d5803-d5833-t2906706
Then, you must open the flashtools click the simblodo radius, click flasmode, go to where is the file folder you downloaded (remember it should be within a folder to be visible) after click flash.
Take your device, push de vol- button and connect in the usb cable. The process should start after that..
Wait for the whole process, do not remove the USB cable device.
After the process remove the USB device cable and turn on the device !!
Note: If your device stay in infinite boot, repeat the process, but choose to wipe the boxes on the right side, when flashing the ROM.

it just happen to me just now and since I bought this phone on craigslist and I believe its unlocked for a different carrier cos its a Verizon phone on t-mo I have no warranty. so. I did what I knew to turn the phone off by pressing the power button and volume up simultaneously but it dint work like everything else so I open the sim tray and I held the power button and the reset button by the sim card and I felt the phone bitrate and that was a good Sing cos after that the phone rebooted with out resetting. I can only hope that this method can work for you as it did for me.

I posted this in a another thread, but I'll include it here in case it might help someone:

Sorry to bump an old thread, but this problem has been driving me nuts and I think I may have a solution. Specifically for my phone (a Z3c), it seems to be related to the SD card. I had a similar problem last year where the SD card would be corrupted and cause lags/data loss. I then bought a new SD card. Now, the phone has been randomly powering itself off and will not even charge when powered off. Then, at a random future time, the phone will be able to be charged/turned on as if nothing happened. This behavior has become increasingly more common

I've tried reformatting, deleting unnecessary programs, clearing caches, etc. The reformat seemed to help for a few days and then the problem returned. Last night I did some more troubleshooting and removed the SD card. It remained powered on for the whole night (for the first time all week). In the morning, I put the SD card back in and the phone wouldn't power on.

Right now I'm wondering if anyone else having the same problem with their Sony Z can cure it by removing their SD card? I'm going to next try to reformat the SD card and, if that doesn't work, buy a new (maybe slower) SD card. My current SD card is a 64gb class X which I've anecdotally heard can have timing issues with some SD controllers. I find it strange to have problems with two separate SD cards in my phone though. Either I'm very unlucky, SD cards aren't made for longevity, and/or the Sony Z has a controller that eventually kills or corrupts SD cards.

I have a 1 year old phone and got the issue yesterday for the first time. Will try if removing the SD card will help. Thanks.

:good:
It does vibrate in my case, but still won't boot up. Connecting to any power source still makes the red led blink, but there's no other sign of life. The three vibration at least means it's sort of alive in the inside.

Hi,
I'm also a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact user. I bought the phone on December 2014 and started having the problem on July 2015.
I tried the tricks and it worked (power button + Volume up button does the best).
However, last week (October 2015) the phone died and the trick won't work anymore.

The best response my phone can do now is the red LED indicator while charged, but the LED indicator seems like turning on and off at a fast speed.
I tried the trick and even try to flash the phone, but anything won't work.

Any help please? Thanks.

Hi,
I take it as it makes fast and short dim light blinks, right?

Is there any other sort of ligth signal that it maakes when connected in other way such as PWR+USBConnect or VolDwn+USBConnect?

Mine lights up steady when PWR+USBConnect or lights up and then turns off briefly to later lit up again when VolDn+USBConnect

If the USB is hooked to a PC it will mean no difference fot the first minute or two but after that PC will start detecting a connected device and Flastool will detect a "Device connected with debug options off"

Regards

EDIT: I can also get it to light up steady and very bright when connecting it to a PC using the VolDn+USBconnect combination.

This should help anyone with a Z3 or Z3 compact where their phone doesn't turn on or do ANYTHING.

In my experience I was using my 2 week old Z3, no problems, until one day I locked the screen using the power button and it wouldn't turn back on.
I tried everything, soft reset, hard reset, yellow button next to sim card tray, plugging it into my computer etc etc. Still nothing.
I knew the phone was working because it started to get quite hot towards the top of the phone.
Eventually came across a fix that worked for me and hopefully will for you, so don't think you've got a shiny new ornament just yet.

I don't know what is required and what isn't but this is what worked for me:
1. Hold the volume down button for 30 seconds
2. Keep it held and plug your phone into a power source (wall or computer) using the USB cable. No response?
3. Let go of the volume down button. Now press the volume down button and power button together for 5 seconds. Still no response?
4. Press the volume up button and power button together for 10 seconds. This should cause your device to vibrate 3 times and then show the battery charging screen.
5. Turn the device on using the power button as normal.

Alas!
I was ready to send mine off to Sony's awfully long repair service which last time took nearly 8 weeks (I could've personally driven to Japan/China and back from the UK)

Hope this works for someone!
Thanks mate this helped me a lot with my 1 and a half year old xperia which displayed a message saying it was turning off due to overheating, (I felt the handset and device was cold had spotify, youtube and couple of non intensive apps running) I tried your fix (the last one) and it worked!!! :) dont really understand much beyond the basics about hardware but think it may have been memory leak with one of the apps anyway thanks again! :)
