If you have an xt1096, and do not use verizon postpaid account, are you able to tether?

I previously could tether with no restriction on 5.0 with an ATT Straight talk Sim. After updating to 5.1 official OTA non rooted, I cannot. Without the bootloader unlocked, and no root, Tether is not available on ATT network sim card.

I would advise against the upgrading OTA if you want to keep your OFF VERIZON sim card able to tether.

I am testing a Tmobile sim card now and will report back.

EDIT: Tmobile sim active and takes me to a T-mobile upgrade page where I cannot upgrade to a tethering plan.

Delete the APN and try it again. It worked for me.
