if you flash a US xt720 with the motoroi's firmware, will the US phone still work correctly? im pretty sure the radio frequencies and hardware are different? just curious...

Wow, thanks a lot for braving up and trying it out for all of us!
haha well it seems to be the test version, but still i am impressed! hopefully they release an official glitch-free version soon! then we can all have 2.2 goodness...
although 2.3 is out... 2.2 is better than 2.1 haha

What I could see was the new google search widget, but I couldn't use it because it freezed, and some icons. They are not Motorola branded anymore. They are stock android icons. I didn't like it

IT WORKS!
you have to do a factory reset from Recovery mode.!

IDK, I did a wipe/factory reset and started working.
The only problem is that I don't get any signal, and when I try to set it up a stock SKT menu appears asking if I want to use roaming...That's the only problem I found.

Now I have signal...so the phone works.
Z4root didn't seem to work.

I can confirm..ROM is working OK
but you have to wipe all data from recovery

BUT....
this is still old 2.1 kernel
(you can put apps on SD card, still...)

edit:
and there are 2 problems

proximity sensor and auto rotate is not working, and touch keys are not illuminated

and Hd video recording is MUCH MUCH better
very fluid, and even in dark it is much better than before...

phone is more responsive than before (even at 550MHz), launcher is much smoother (by design it is the same launcher which comes with XT720), there is no motoblur
quick office is updated...widgets are the same, and that's all..
but unfortunately, I will flash back to 2.1 because of proximity/auto rotate and led buttons

I found the phone a little bit warm, I don't know :S

The mms.apk and phone.apk are AWESOME! (In my opinion)
Youtube is the same as Eclair and the launcher is the same
Market was old at first but then it updated.
