yes the phone has to be in fastboot, whatever method gets you there doesnt matter as long as you are in fastboot.

Hi. I'm in the similar situation to others. My bootloader is unlocked, but thinks it isn't. A corrupt OTA update fried my partitions, etc.
A month ago when this happened, I tried using RSD Lite, etc. with no luck (although RSD DID see the phone at that time). Now, excited to see this fix script, I've downloaded it and should be ready to go.
However NOW my stupid PC won't recognize the phone at all. I'm running Windows 8.1 and have installed every driver package I can find, to no avail.
The fix script just says "waiting for device", and when I do an adb devices I get nothin. I'm about to try another PC, running XP, but does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks.

I have found a fix that worked great! The Droid Razr HD gpt fail Fix 1.3, Just run option 1 with your phone plugged into your PC. That Simple!
I was emailing Matt Groff about the issues after searching forums for days and nothing working. He gave me some advice but eventually I found this fix and Link below, Enjoy!

everyone here knows i modded the script after another user here figured out the fix.
someone obviously re-packaged the utility i modded to fix this issue.

on a flash failure that command might work, but if you have a jacked partition you are not going to "continue" past that.

no, when this came up before, the few 925 files we looked at did not have the partition file needed to make the fix.
just to clarify - the Logo.bin is for what exactly? to Fix my XT925 partitions?
It is the normal M logo to replace the "warning bootloader is unlocked" logo.

First of all sorry for reviving the post. Man, I have nearly the same problem as you but my case is inverse: I've tried to install xt926 radio on my xt925. You said that you can go to recovery/fastboot with no problem so I ask: how you do it? I could get in fastboot once but I've tried so many things that I don't know exactly what I did. But simply pressing power while holding volume up (or down) does not seem to work for me. There is some trick to do it?
AP Fastboot Mode
Make sure your phone is powered OFF.
With the device OFF, push & hold the volume down button and then push & hold the power button simultaneously...
After 3 sec. let go of the power button, and your phone s/b in AP Fastboot mode.

no, but this should fix corrupt kk partitions. no guarantee, but its made the same way as the JB version you mentioned.
