you dont need to replace anything in the script, if it doesnt re-write the partitions as is, there is no way to do it.

XT926 stuck on motorola logo

Hey guys, sorry to bother you, but i cant seem to find a solution to this problem. I did the OTA update to KK on my XT926 and now its just looping on the Motorola logo. I downloaded the newest RSD and as well as two original Firmwares (4.1.2 and 4.0.4 to the corresponding model and edited the .xml files taking out the "getvar" lines) and when flashing thru RSD i get this error message "Failed flashing process. unknown fastboot command." on both Firmwares. And when i try to access the Recovery, i get this opened android image with the Red Triangle. Any suggestions?

i guess i need some help here

Well, i got my XT926 stuck on fastboot this evening after i did updating the software 9.18.79.en.US, it's the main problem here right?
I have similar problem and chronology with www[dot]droidforums[dot]net/threads/stuck-in-fastboot-mode.263717/
My PC running win7 doesn't recognize the usb either
I tried to connect my phone to my friend's laptop running XP, it's quite a good start with recognizing the usb
Now im trying to download the files that required for this issue such as RSD Lite, etc

I've read the whole page but the link that you guys have tested/posted before has expired
I've been checked the link from bweN diorD(it's expired) and scoobaspeaz(honestly i don't know how to apply your guide lol)
I'm a noob, and got nothing with any android problems, it's my first time lol
I'd like to ask some help here with this fastboot issue, i miss my xt926

Regards

and then i did execute the .bat file once again, and it's coming like this

Code:
sending 'partition' <32 KB>. . .
OKAY [ 0.016s ]
writing 'partition'. . .
FAILED <remote failure>
Finished. total time: 0.188s
and here's the message from my phone bellow

Code:
downgraded security version
update gpt_main version failed
Failed to hab check for gpt_backup: 0x35
failed to load GTP
CID Read Failure
Invalid CID status 0x69
Np SP partition found
Fastboost Reason: Invalid GPT

If the partition flash fails, which it is, that means one of 2 things,
1. The phone has a more current partition table already on it
2. The phone is toast

You should try flashing the kk version and see what happens. There is only 1 version more current than that. I can provide the most current version later if the one below fails. I suggest you try that one first.

Just wondering, what if i flash with the same JB version? Will it work? I heard many problems on xt926 kk version, mostly on battery life and freezing device.
If there's still no chance, or will make the phone even worse, i think i have no choice but trying the kk.
I will definitely download kk anyway, but still wishing to boot on JB with powerful battery life.

i think the jb file i gave you is from the most current jb version, but im really not positive.
it really doesnt matter what version is on your phone, what matters is the most current version that was on it at any time. so flashing the versin that is on it may not work because of this.
really, your first priority needs to be to get it working again, then you can put it back on jb if you want.
if your bootloader is unlocked, just flash the kk version, to try and get it working, then you can go back to jb later.
if you are not unlocked, flash the kk version, if it works, do not take any updates, go directly to this thread and follow the instructions to unlock. also in that post are instructions to go back to jb. follow the instructions exactly, and use the files given, or you will get yourself stuck again.

I've read the thread and it's like an oasis to me and make me think "allright then, let's do the KK!" lol
Allright, here's the result from flashing kk an hour ago. It's failed.

The left column say
Code:
ESN: N/A
Technology Version: N/A
Sotware Version: N/A
Flex Version: N/A
Bootloader Version: N/A
DRM Version: N/A
The bottom column say
Code:
Failed flashing process. Unknown fastboot command. (getvar)
Result failed
Some people says to delete the .getvar(on the other thread not related to this prob). I thought it's nothing to do with my problem, but yeah i have no idea, i'm just saying

hmmm
you are not following my directions, or are confused.
you should NOT be using rsd, and there is no way you used my file because i wouldnt leave the getvar line in it.
here is the proper tool.
-extract the folder
-put your phone in fastboot and connect to pc
-run the "windows batch file" in the folder and follow the instructions
when complete, if it works, go to my op in the guide i posted below and follow the instructions to unlock if necessary, and flash back to JB if you want to.

Guys, seriously, have you even did your job researching around here? Jeez, you'll brick your phones just going back and forth from KK to JB and vice versa!

Search for Orphee, Kabaldan or Madmonkey57 posts if you want to do it using tested proof methods! They are XT925 methods but ask around... maybe it works for 926 as well. If not, in sure they can send you in the right direction!

...and most of all, read, read and read again!

if the system was the only thing to fail, try flashing the script again. thats a pretty odd thing to fail.

I'll try to do it again later, my battery is getting low now because of blink-ing screen, i guess the phone strugling to boot again and again and cost so much battery life. I'll get factory cable soon and then try to re-flashing the rom again. Just for the record, i've tried 5 times and the result still the same.
error: cannot load system.img

Thanks anyway for your help this last 3 days, at least i could get in to the bootloader menu again. Now i'm trying to charge the battery since it can pass the M logo(i think wall charger will work) and make/get factory cable soon(there's a possibility the phone won't charge, right?). I'll get in touch again when the phone prepared to do flashing things again. Thank you bweN diorD, thank you!

Best Regards

Edited: lol i can charge the phone as i thought, so i can continue the process, hell yeah!

np, happy to help :)

ok, if you tried 5 times and the system still wont go, its likely not going to go. this is the first time i have seen this. you are sure nothing else fails when using the tool but system?

btw, is your bootloader unlocked? just trying to figure out what to try next.

after consulting with @SamuriHL we both think flashing with rsd would be the best next step to try and fix this.
he has provided you with a new version of rsd here. uninstall your current version and install that one. then you can use the xml file in the utility to flash with rsd, but you will need to edit it fist!! save a copy elsewhere encase you need it later, then completely remove the "gpt" line (first step) and "tz" (the 6th step). close and save. then use this edited xml as the target file for rsd, and let us know how it goes.
**fingers crossed** lol

edit, sam also suggests trying another usb port, rear if available, and 2.0 for sure.

Yes everything is okay except system.img. I'm pretty sure that i'm unlocked, the AP fastboot said so.
I've downloaded the new rsd from SamuriHL, i'm a bit confuse to deleting the lines in .xml . Should it looks like my attachement below? I know this is stupid question, but i don't want to do anything with stupid result here
For the usb port, i'm using 2.0 rear port since my friend's laptop is an old fashion one lol
