Any further information on what this exactly does? Does it work similar to maximum performance mode in windows where the low/max cpu is at 100%. This decreases battery life, but does not necessarily mean extreme heat (as this is mainly dependant on load rather than clock multiplier on high all the time).

Its in xperia actions->gaming->gaming actions->actions->optimise your xperia for gaming performance
It can be invoked by clicking on the lightbulb icon in the homepage
You can make sure if it is turned on via settings->support->tools->accessibility
