did someone manage to root his phone, with camera etc working ? And how (Kingroot, OneClickRoot, other) ?

I did come across this, but am too hesitant to try it myself first lol. Since I can't post links yet try a google search for "genkes How To Root Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact Without PC" and it should be the top link

Please be aware before attempting to root your XZ2c. Usually with Sony phones, you'll need to unlock the bootloader first, which will erase your unique DRM keys, which will decrease the usability of certain Sony-specific functionality, such as color-enhancements and camera, which may become totally useless (until a work-around is found).

I'm not saying it's definitely the case with this phone, but I cannot imagine otherwise.

That tutorial use KingRoot/KingoRoot. I would think twice before using a closed source Chinese app that gains access to your system.
