I can confirm that Youtube will now work through Android Auto on our phones and my car. Not sure about every car but here is the link to try it....

Go look at joying decks, 7inch 8 inch 10inch all have all Android apps working, just turn on tethering and you have a 8inch android touch screen tablet, radio, all Android apps you can think of, back up camera, gps just anything and everything. Watching or listening to YouTube or Google music whatever Facebook, lol in your car ,driving or parked dosent matter. IMG_20180127_182059.jpg

Great!! As if we needed more distracted a******* driving around! I have friends who were seriously injured riding their motor bike from these damn people!

Any app that shows any type of video content on Android Auto should be treated as virus and blocked by Google. The world doesn't need more accidents caused by mindless people at the wheel!

I don't recall setting this post up as an opinion poll. Like was previously stated there are situations were its nice to be able to watch videos while you are parked. Your opinion has no merit in this particular thread. Move on bro.

I had a successful install, but never shows 'send to car'. It's only showing 'about' and a greyed-out version number. Any ideas?

I have it installed on my pixel XL on "CR-DROID" 8.1 rom. And im linking to Android auto via USB on a 2016 GMC Sierra with no issues parked or running down the road. Everything plays just fine I had issues at first but I went back and followed the instructions in the video exactly. But I will say that I have never seen the "send to car" icon in disguise app. But once I have everything installed and I have enabled the developer settings in Android auto on my phone and went in and click unknown sources or whatever it's called the bottom option, all I do is plug my phone into the USB when Android auto comes up on my Dash I click the far right-hand icon which normally does not give me any option but the standard option to return to GMC intellilink or whatever it says but now I have a second option which is this guy's app. I click that option and I'm good to go.
But I will say this if you are running the latest version of Android auto on your phone it will not work. I believe Google has patched it in the latest version of Android auto from the Play Store. So what I've done to fix that problem is go to my custom recovery TWRP and restore an old backup of my ROM. So that I have the old Android auto app when I reboot. Then immediately after reboot I go to the Play Store then go to settings and turn off auto update apps. Are them go and update all the apps that need to be updated except for the Android auto app. And that's how I continue to run YouTube through Android auto without Google patching me out of it. It sounds like a lot of BS to have to go through but if you remember to go to the Play Store settings and disable auto update apps then you don't have to deal with this over and over. But then again I am using Android auto on a GMC Sierra and maybe different for you guys with other vehicles. Especially FORDS. Ford's are always messing stuff up. Lmao

Don't need to have an S9... we both have Android phones. Go study up and learn how to do it just like I did. BTW why are reading and posting in the Pixel XL threads if you have an S9 in the first place?
Good question. I google and found this thread! lol But yea, I tried all the tricks and mods to no avail. Maybe it don't work on Android 8 Oreo?
