My head unit has started to reboot every 5-10 seconds after it gets to home screen.
It's very difficult to get to any settings as there's very little time to do so.
I've tried performing an update via USB but it's impossible as it reboots during the process.
Could someone tell me what I could do in my situation?
Is there a way I could get to recovery settings?

hello
i had the same exact problem yesterday and i solved it by taking the unit out and flashing it with spf tool.
i used a laptop adapter to power up the unit and connect it to computer by a usb-c phone cable( i have a usbc port on the pc).
i followed this bellow guide to create a backup and then i flashed (in spf tool DOWNLOAD ONLY) only the userdata.img taken out an update image of an update (any update for yt9213a will do).
there is a very detailed video about hot to do a backup with spf flash. after that i improvised and kept finger crossed.

Thank you very much! After reading your first post I finally got around to removing the head-unit to see what I’m working with. Now I know what you mean by laptop charger and will look into purchasing one to connect to it. I now feel confident this can be easily resolved. Thanks again!

basically, any charger that outputs 12V CC is good. just connect the +12V to yellow+red cable and the -12V to black. This is to be sure you can power the headunit.
you then need some way of connecting it to the PC. either via a USB male to male or via a USB A to USB C.

you then need to install the drivers like in the video before and then just restore in SPF flash tool the USRDATA.IMG and if you like, also ANDROID (system.IMG)

DO NOT FLASH PRELOADER.

you have the same unit as mine so my backup should work for you.
I have made an archive with the SPF Flashtool and my backup lof android 6.0, available here:
