I have a Z3+ E6553 with stock Nougat 7.1.1. Stupid me, I thought that unlocking the bootloader was required to root and I've lost the DRM keys. From what I've seen this fix might not work with 7.1.1. Anyone stories of anyone getting it to work on the newer OS? It's been awhile since I've done any flashing, etc. If I remember right, there is a way to run TWRP using fastboot without actually flashing it to the phone, correct? If I do that, can I then flash this mod?

After do this if I check with *#*#7378423#*#* --->configuration then I see Root Status is "Unknown"....is it normal? Or I failed?? I use D6653 with Marshmallow concept 3657 and my device think it's D6603. Btw I use advanced stock kernel MM concept 3657 in this Link.

Edit: Yup it works, although Root status is unknown but I can see the difference while taking picture in lowlight also difference between Xreality on and off

Nope mate...once you have unlocked then the key will be gone even if u try to re-lock again unless before you unlock you did a backup key. But this tool can restore the functions (better low light picture, xreality engine) from Z series...it can't restore the original key.

Finally, I found how I can do it, and I think that it works for whole roms.
After unlocking bootloader, I lock it again by flash tools. By Xperia companion software, I repair the phone software.
By following tutorial, I found the backup file and converted to ftf file:

I unlocked the rom by flash tools and by following method I could root it again.

and by following tutorial I found how I can put the DRM function file in the ftf file and converted it to zip for installing from twrp.

I could restore the function of DRM key without ant problem.

Unfortunately not.
for this reason, I lost my phone DRM key. it was my mistake because before reading enough I did that.
after the mistake, I just wanted to restore DRM key function. there was no chance for recovering the key.

Yeah me too ^_^ did not read the whole thing and just unlocked it...lost DRM. Fortunately there is a way to re-enable the functions that has been lost although DRM key already lost forever.
