I tested in for XOSP ROM and got "Okay" message at the end. I tried to flash with TWRP Recovery but its not finding Winzip file in directory. I tried to convert into .zip file which came as "boot_m003_RR-N-v5.8.0-20161222-Z00L.7z.zip" and failed while flashing.
Also i tried with this command in fast boot mode: fastboot flash boot_m003_RR-N-v5.8.0-20161222-Z00L.img but it's not working.

can you plz make .zip file ?
I have converted into .zip file and flashed it and got error msg :
could not find 'META-IND=F/com/google/andriod/update-binary' in the zip file.
Error Installing zip file '/sdcard1/boot_m003_RR-N-v5.8.0-20161222-Z00L.img.zip'

RR Nougat - yes, check 1st post under section file names & roms
The truth about kernels and battery life

Not sure about other roms, you could test the kernel via fastboot

from my own testing of the kernel on Beanstalk marshmallow rom:

Doze settings editor didn't really give much battery savings. Using profile GeraldRudi, it forces the phone to go into Doze mode, 30secs after screen off. The value can be changed via settings 'Inactive Timeout'.

Max battery savings are gained from using Xposed+Greenify (donation package) & Xposed+ForceDoze. These are based on marshmallow, which allows installation of xposed framework & modules. Will test on Nougat later this week.

Will be busy for the next 2-3 weeks, so no more kernel rolling or updates, maybe after Chinese New Year.

Kernel support fast charging

Check nougat stock kernel using monitoring tools (see 1st post), evaluate quad core CPU frequencies,

- does all 4 cores stay at max frequencies all the time? Or they clock down & go offline during idle?

Personally, I tried to use nougat but just couldn't bear to go without XPrivacy & Greenify coz nougat don't support xposed

Will try to recompile nougat kernels again after Chinese new year, here's a brief workflow of what I do

Flash nougat rom
Extract kernel and config
Apply config on CM kernel source
Apply additional custom config ie autosmp etc etc, see 1st post
Compile kernel
Extract ramdisk from original kernel
Pack ramdisk with my kernel to produce new boot image

See? I use original kernel, then add hotplug & some other batt saving commits

Z00T? I'll see what I can do, no promises. I don't own Z00T, cannot test anything. U test and let me know when the time comes.

@pokipokipxorn How do I know if my phone is fast charging?. Is this qcomm fast charge 2.0? I have a fast charger. I haven't tried kernel yet
#1 No need to use any fast charger at all

#2 Enable 'USB Fast Charging' in app Kernel Adiutor (Battery & Power section), apply & reboot

#3 install app 'Fast Charge' by Mathew Winters, connect charger/power bank/USB PC cable, launch app & select the Red Rabbit, check status

Quick Charger with 2.0A, Stock Asus Charger is 1.0A.... Does this kernel unlock the Port's ability to accept 2.0A (aka Quick charge). The Snapdragon chip inside this phone supports quick charge but I think Asus locked it
