Hi guys,

I am currently running 14.4.A.0.157, rooted and locked bootloader - stock ROM.

I am happy with the phone this way and the rooting process was fast.

I got the 14.5.A.0.242 update to Lollipop and I was wondering what would be the procedure to update it and keep root?
> do I need to unlock bootloader?

Thanks
No need to unlock bootloader, just flash any PRF of .242 update according to Your region and done! Although do remember to take backup of Your app and it's data first.

Hello Guys! on monday i refashed .283 stcok rom. After when i started the phone, i could hear the boot sound, but i couldn't see anything on the screen, just later, when it booted up and waited seconds. It works with CM and RR, but on CM and RR, my touchscreen doesn't work after a day(after reboot it's ok). Now i don't know what happened. I tried a lot of stock ROM. Greece, hungarian, german. I always get same. Before that, i used costum stock based kernel. Can anyone help me?

Can OP update the link to [STOCK ROM][FTF]Xperia Z1c (D5503) 14.4.A.0.108 Generic UK unbranded (1279-4053) to this one please. The link in opening post points to UA (Ukranian) version. No biggy, just for accurateness.

OP Updated.

People can just use XperiFirm to download any ftf they want.
That may be true but doesn't make up for the fact that is says it links to a UK version while in reality it links to a Ukranian version (UA). I'm talking about the second link under KitKay [OLD], bottom of the opening post.

Noob here..

Hey all,

I have managed to unlock my bootloader but I am unsure on how to proceed with rooting my D5503.

I have tried to follow these steps but I am confused...

Download and install the latest Flashtool
Run XperiFirm (comes pre-bundled with the Flashtool) to download the latest FW.
Download [UB ONLY] [kernel] Root, init.d support, Recovery & Busybox for 14.6.A.0.368
I assume I have to use XperiFirm to download an Australian FW but then I am lost.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

You need not latest, but .368 firmware to use "[UB ONLY] [kernel] Root, init.d support, Recovery & Busybox for 14.6.A.0.368".
Flash .368 FW with FlashTool and then follow instructions in "[UB ONLY] [kernel] Root, init.d support, Recovery & Busybox for 14.6.A.0.368" OP.

Hi everyone,
Is there an easy root for the 14.6.A.1.368 firmware for the Z1 Compact? Or do we have to downgrade first? What happened to the 1-click root with Kingroot? I am reading in the forum that it is not working on the latest firmware.

Any ideas?
