ERoot is save to use? I just need to root device so I can restore my apps from Titanium backup. Can I unroot also with ERoot?
I don't think any "one click" works, you'll need to do the whole downgrade thing if your BL isn't unlocked. And what do you mean "its dead"?

Here you go, [GUIDE] Back up DRM Keys & unlock/relock Bootloader (Noob proof)
follow this guide step by step and you'll get root and dual recovery without unlocking the boot loader
Hello,

I apologize in advance for the newbie post.

I've just bought one of these great phones, and am loving it so far. But... because I'm a tinkerer (and a control freak), I'd like to install CWM and root it.

My question is about the TA partition and DRM keys.

If I've read things right, once the bootloader is unlocked the DRM keys are lost, but then the task is as simple as flashing CWM and using it to install the latest SU update.zip.

But why are people jumping through that long, long list of hoops just to keep their DRM keys? It is making me think twice before doing anything. Will everything still work properly if I 'lose' my DRM keys?

I do not own any DRM content and I do not intend to buy any. I guess it all boils down to this: What else will I lose if I unlock the bootloader and lose my DRM keys?

Cheers,

Rob

Simply, your warranty will become void if you unlock your device's bootloader and lose your DRM keys (that's all what you'll lose).
so if you are intending to keep your device's warranty, then you need to backup your DRM keys

You also lost the ability to use any build-in Sony functions such as Bravia engine and more.

Overall it's not that big of a loss tbh, and the only significant loss for me is using NFC to connect to my W9 but I can still use the Throw feature and stream from my Phone, and TrackID still works too. At the end of the day being able to ROOT outweighs the need to use a feature or too that I would hardly use anyway and having had to do the downgrade route with my Z that I was unable to unlock I'll never get another Phone from a carrier again for the sole purpose of being able to unlock and root asap.

If warranty is a worry, go the downgrade route, if it isn't then unlock, root and don't look back. :cowboy:

I can turn it on, but based on some reviews I leave it off. It's well documented what you lose but the loss of mirroring is the only annoyance I've found.

Anything related to DRM can be considered lost I guess although TrackID still works which you did use to lose. You need to relock if you want your old apps back, but given what they are and how much they would be used anyway, does it override the use of root, not for me it doesn't. :)
