@munjeni @SpiritCroc @maz-1 - I just read interesting article on xda about blobs and shims. Am I right to think that shims is how you got the camera working on N? If so, would it be possible to use same shims to build AOSP with a good camera?

Yes shims are required to get stock binaries working on N / custom ROMs.
Getting it to work on AOSP sounds like a big amount of work

Sudamod has comparable camera with 3.1 kernel, but AOSP rooms all have unusable camera because of Sony blobs, (I think)... I would like to figure out a way to get AOSP with usable camera. I've tried using boot img from 3 other roms and it won't boot... I've also tried kernel port technique I found on xda, but no go. I guess I might just have to bite the bullet and get into rom building.

Looking at the screenshot of about device, seems to me like sudamod has 3.4 kernel as well

Your link is 410, but I just checked the Sudamod op, and you're right. I swear it said 3.1 at first, right @maz-1? That's why I posted this on the first day - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73630072&postcount=4

I can do nothing to improve camera. And for me it is not important since I take 10 pics a year so i can wait for focus.
But th rom has more problems I think. Mobile Data is not working correctly and the battery life also doesn't
came near to stock one. Maybe the are improvement in the future maybe not. I don't think the rom is ready for daily driver.

@munjeni (or anyone) - I remember you posted about this, but can't find it... I'm trying to wipe apps_log without computer. I found apps_log partition at mcblk0p22, and dumped to appslog.img, before flashing a Nougat rom. Then when I wanted to wipe apps_log to flash back to MM, I made full wipe, flashed stock MM, then went to terminal command in TWRP and used

dd if=/sdcard/appslog.img of=/dev/block/mcblk0p22

Command completed and output

(xxxxx) bytes in (xxxxx) bytes out (xxxxx) transferred

However, still no boot.
Did I get the command wrong?

do you know what is the most stable nougat rom for z1c with least bugs and most things functional? if then what it is, ive been looking for some, and kind of interested with lineage os by munjeni, but idk which rom is better, in terms of everything, perfomance and whatsoever.. it'll help me alot, thanks
