To give you guys a sign of hope, an as I can't make screenshots (note the "[email protected]".. it's the Z2):

but we still have the routing problem:

E/ConnectivityService( 687): Exception in addRoute for gateway: java.lang.IllegalStateException: command '320 network route add 111 rmnet0 0.0.0.0/0 10.104.147.98' failed with '400 320 addRoute() failed (No such process)'

but we still have the routing problem:

There are a few sources which might be affecting the issue:
1: changes to core/java/android/net/ConnectivityManager.java
2: changes to services/core/java/com/android/server/ConnectivityService.java
3: changes in system/netd
4: is netd run in the proper selinux context? Try disabling selinux
- echo 0 >/selinux/enforce
- newrole -r sysadm_r
- setenforce 0
- add selinux=0 in the kernel build command line args
5: does netd have the proper permissions? is it properly configured as a service in init.rc?
6: do we have the proper /system/bin/ip /system/bin/netcfg /system/bin/route set?

Are you having a competition with @krabappel2548? Maybe you both could collaborate instead of working separately on the same issues.

It seemed to be selinux... Now I'm facing another issue:

V/IdletimerController( 267): runCmd(/system/bin/ip6tables -t raw -A idletimer_raw_PREROUTING -i rmnet0 -j IDLETIMER --timeout 5 --label 0 --send_nl_msg 1) res_ipv4=1, res_ipv6=1
E/ConnectivityService( 687): Exception in setupDataActivityTracking java.lang.IllegalStateException: command '385 idletimer add rmnet0 5 0' failed with '400 385 Failed to add interface'

Krabappel mentioned something in his thread about working with another developer.
Might be the guys in this thread hes talking about?

We are already working together.

That's CM12: Running it on my Phone ATM too, no data at all tho :(

@infected_ I was faster :p Check the Kernel build date :p
We might should talk to each other if we can help us somehow tho ;)

Maybe a SELinux issue ? SELinux managed to kick my ass in the last time, it was even resposible for CM12 not booting on my device. (Now it is tho).

i didn’t know that i was even in some sort of a competition ... :)

check your inbox, i sent you a PM.

All you guys are so awesome. Thank you all for the amount of effort you guys are putting into this. Love this community :highfive: I wish I had the technical expertise to help, but I'm a Chemistry major, all this jargon is like rocket science :)

Does anyone managed to get the kernel loading the modem firmware?

I'am trying the whole week now, but no success. It seems that adding the modem firmware files to /etc/firmare is not enough.

It works for me. I can send SMS and make calls, and basically have mobile data except for a small "big" problem.

Try add -fno-pic top the makefile of kernel and rebuild kernel modules: make clean and make modules.
Or try modprobe or insmod the kernel modules.

So I was wondering, there are currently two other developers making android 5.0 work on the z2. Wouldn't it be appropriate to just combine the efforts and contribute to one Rom? or are we in a "Rom" race?

Sent from my D6503 using XDA Free mobile app

but we still have the routing problem:

I had the same issue on the C6603 (Xperia Z) - your kernel is probably missing uid-based routing: The missing support freaks out netd and causes incomplete routing tables.

This should do it:
https://github.com/adrian-bl-yuga/k...mmit/768ec05fd4b48ffe02c2657e3d00b27a7184e199
..and this to avoid kernel-panic-funtimes:
https://github.com/adrian-bl-yuga/k...mmit/77c0a69a00ea86ef9b1121bc8de441d56cd321d0

(cherrypicked from the google-msm kernel)

If you need any help with the device bringup feel free to PM me: I got everything working on the C6603 (http://www.blinkenlights.ch/ccms/android/yuga-l.html) and the hardware of the Z2 is almost the same anyway.

Thanks for popping in @pabx!

Good to see you back after all the ruckus with KitKat on the Z, hopefully you can give the Z2 devs some good pointers and get our devices up and running!
