I took in an AT&T Zenfone 2 to have the screen replaced. In his infinite wisdom the tech decided to "update" the ROM. Now when the phone tries to update, it attempts to do an OTA update which it can not do as I currently am in Thailand. I would like to salvage this phone if possible..
#1 As it will not boot normally I have no way to access the bootloader to unlock it. Nor can I enable ADB Debugging..
#2 With ADB tools I am unable to connect via an USB cable.
#3 I have not tried to load a custom recovery via the microSD card.
#4 When I try to install an ASUS ROM or Lineage-14.1 via the recovery mode I get a footer or signature verification error.
#5 I am a bit of a dolt when it comes to Android but if someone can assist me I would appreciate it by first telling me if the phone can be fixed or if it should be just tossed.
#6 If it can be fixed please inform me of the procedure to follow to install a new ROM on it.
