Hi. You need a rom that has the latest security patch i.e: 1 march 2020, then you will not have the lockscreen and samsung account issues.
Alexandr Rom v7.2 is the latest one.

Can I flash this kernel using Odin? If not, any alternatives as this is the first time that I'll be trying this?

You can flash via recovery, make sure you select flash image and then select the boot partition.
Will the process reset my data?
Does it trip Knox and prevent me from using certain apps?
By recovery, do you mean the stock recovery?

Hi. Flashing kernels alone will not reset data.
Stock recovery will not flash anything much, it's just normal basic wipes/factory reset.
You have 2 ways of flashing kernels; thru Odin or thru custom recovery which everyone uses now is TWRP recovery because it's easy to flash anything within our devices.
Flashing custom recoveries will trip knox, there's no way you can escape that.
Once knox is tripped, Samsung Pay and Secure Folder (if you are using these) will be unusable because those apps detects tripped counter.
Bear in mind that after flashing kernels, you must flash Magisk to get your device to be rooted and boot into your systems.

I just want these two atm since I pretty much use both Samsung Pay and Secure Folder.
Forgot to mention, once it's rooted with magisk and custom kernel is being installed, Samsung Pay and Secure Folder will be unusable too.
It's how Samsung detects device modifications.
For magisk installations, you still need custom recovery though.
There are other roms in this note 9 forums have got Secure Folder working only (but not Samsung Pay), but I'm not sure whether it will be compatible with this kernel, since a rom (or yours) needs the latest security patch or latest firmware in order for your device to run smoothly.
If you are reliant on Samsung Pay and Secure Folder for now, I suggest you don't root your device.

Guys a new beta kernel has been released for public use with more fixes and full of surprises and performance boost... check it out on Github for changelogs & download link of the kernel
N960N now have a seperate kernel due to difference on RAMDisk than N960F , Enjoy
Most major changes are:-
- Kernel now is built with GCC 10.0.1 + LTO
- SLMK & Camera driver are updated
- N960N is now having a separate kernel
