I have been using CM on Xperias since CM9 and in each version of it the Movie Studio app has not been working. The same is happening here too. It crashes when you try to export the video using any setting.

Does anybody have a working version of Movie Studio? Can anyone try to import a video, do a simple crop and then export it?

Hmmm...

I'm unsure if there's any real way to correlate my observations with something that would be helpful...

I restored my cm11 install from earlier in the month and then installed the latest cyanogenmod.org nightly... (yeah, this is the fxp post though...)

I plugged in headphones and listened to music, stopped playing music, turned off the screen, and unplugged headphones and then awoke the phone and I assume it still thought headphones were plugged in - as I wasn't getting ANY audible notifications from the phone... until I plugged phones back in and then unplugged them while the screen was on. (might have simply been a coincidence, I haven't attempted to replicate this behavior again.

Bluetooth audio playback... several observations... Intermittent pauses in music playback - with Apollo and Pandora, most of the time these pauses were followed by a noise - almost sounded like sound note that was being played much longer than it should have been - think stutter).

The MP3's I was playing play fine with the walkman app in the current stock rom. I also noticed that notifications are kind of choppy when they play for received e-mail, etc)

Not sure what to think.

AT&T Visual Voicemail App

I have had no luck getting AT&T's visual voicemail app to work properly with any of the 4.4 AOSP builds. The app installs and configures fine, but when it comes to voicemail playback its erratic and cuts out with a loud crackling noise that requires the phone to be reset in order for it to stop.

As others have suggested my ZL's battery is dead in just 8 months of use.
Such a great reliability for my 650 bucks, huh?
Phone only works when connected to a power source (USB cable on PC or wall charger).
I'll try to send it in through warranty here in Brazil even though I've purchased it back in the States.
Let's see what happens... Wish me luck.
On a side note, I'll never buy another Sony phone ever again. And I'll never ever buy another phone with a built-in battery, which leads me back to Samsung... That's just great....

Ya man, Your definitely caught between a rock and a hard place...

I HAAAATE having a built in battery. Its the most anal tightening experience when you have issues with a rom and cant just pull the battery!

I also am not a big Samsung fan, but they seem to be the only ones still giving users that option.

Its funny they put so much software security with things like knox and a flash counter, yet they are the most hacker friendly having removable batteries and sd cards. Catch 22 right there.

As far as Sony phones go, i am a fan if their designs, and dev friendly community. But the ZL is my only experience with them, and I have issues with my camera already. Little black dots everywhere. And its not dirt in the lens, its the pixels gone for a ****.

Anyway, hopefully OEM's smarten up and start giving us removable and replaceable batteries again!

Yeah, Samsung blows.

They're the dog that has gotten too big and fat after us feeding them our hard earned filet mignon and now this overgrown dog is bitting our hands, arms, legs and butts just because it can and we're defenseless against its attacks.

What's worse?

People seem to unconsciously like to be bitten by their fat dog. I mean, they've become as proprietary as Apple with their products (Oh, your average *retard user* absolutely LOVES Apple!!!).

Samsung is nowhere near as developer friendly as Sony for example but then it comes to mind, how did that benefit us, with our crappy Xperia ZL?

There's tons of custom ROMs for SGS3 and SGS4 at this time and they're probably running better, with greater development and debugging power than our humble, but kickass ZL community.

I really don't know what I'm gonna do at this time man... More than likely they will reject my ZL here at the Brazilian repair center because it was not purchased here.

I don't know how long I'm going to be without my phone and if it takes longer than a month for them to send it back to me, then I'm toast, 'cause I won't be able to get it back in time for me to ship it to the service center in the States, wait for it to be repaired and then head out to the States for my simulator training in April.

All of this because of a stupid defective battery!

F*ck!!!!

Worst case scenario you SHOULD be able to replace the battery yourself...

I know, right?

I CAN definitely do this but since it's within the 1 year I find it extremely insulting that I take this approach.

I mean, my 3 year old Samsung Galaxy S still has its ORIGINAL 1500mAh battery alive and kickin'! And that's the phone I'm currently using since my "awesome" ZL's powerful battery fainted on me over a month ago.

So what's up with Sony and its several reports of their ZR, Z, ZL/ZQ, Z1 and so on only booting or functioning properly when plugged into a power source?

Why didn't they place some sort of worldwide recall on specific serial numbers/batches affected by this fault?

It just beats me...

Oh, wait a second.. I know why...!

It's because it would kill their reputation (if they publicly admitted they've screwed up with a recall) and they'd lose A LOT of money... It would be a lot of sh*t to hit the fan. They'd need lots of fans in order to dissipate all that stench they've manufactured themselves.

I just feel like I want my money back you know. I don't want to own such crappy device that quits its battery anywhere from 2 weeks to a year.

Look up "Xperia ZL shuts down" on Google!

Sony :
Quality assurance? - Non existent. Worldwide customer satisfaction? - What's that???

I used to work for Rogers which is Canada's largest wireless service provider (well one of the biggest), and sold A TON of Xperia IONS and Xperia T's. I sold so many Sony phones i actually won a PS3, lol.

I remember sending quite a number of Xperia T's and Ion's out for the same issue, and they just ended up replacing the battery.

Sony's have a voltage safety or something that prevents them from booting if they arent receiving the correct Voltage.

I got lucky and actually won this phone at a launch event. But I'd be reacting the same way as you even tho this phone didnt cost me anything.

Hopefully they will just replace the battery for you....
