Impressively it was waiting to be downloaded on my ZF6 when I got back from a jog this evening. That's the quickest ever!

How to install full firmware?

Hi, I have questions about bact to stock. I'm currently on a custom rom and need to flash another custom rom to find the most suited for me.
1. How do I flash the stock rom? Is that by flashing the fullfirmware via TWRP?
2. Should I flash stock to both partitions?
3. After flashing stock, should I immediately flash the custom one or should I reboot to system first?

Thank you

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. After flashing stock, don't forget flash twrp installer and reboot recovery then u can flash your custom

Follow this to flash stock on both slots:
- Format data (by typing "yes") to remove encryption from previous installation
- Flash stock rom zip
- flash TWRP installer
- Reboot to recovery - this switches the other slot
- flash stock rom zip
- flash TWRP installer; this step can be skipped if you want to flash custom ROM

I've failed to update. I put the OTA file to root directory of internal memory and renamed it. After reboot, I got message about update. When I execute the update, this error message appears.

Mine has been rooted by magisk, twrp installed and comes from stock ROM.

What is the cause of failure?

What is the cause of failure?

1. Download the full update
2. Reboot to TWRP
3. Flash the update + TWRP installer
4. Reboot to TWRP (this switches to the second partition)
5. Flash the update + TWRP installer again (installs the update also on the second partition)
6 (Flash Magisk, if you're rooted) and Boot

A warning to all. The latest ASUS OTA firmware push has resulted in my wifes phone being bricked.

See my post here.

https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-6-2019/help/asus-pushed-update-bricked-wifes-phone-t4164311

Your problem with the most probability wasn't caused by an update, you're just unlucky to be affected by a motherboard error triggered by the intense work with SoC that is common during an update. It might as well have happened during a difficult game, or a stress benchmark.
