I read an article that the new update closed the ability to root of whatever it is everybody likes to do (I'm too worried about bricking my device), and to regain that ability will require reverting back to previous build.

Not sure on that either..
It just stated that after the update you would be unable to root..
Maybe it cause problems if your rooted at update?
I'm just looking forward to the enhancements.. I'm tired of the knock-on activating while in my pocket lol

The ZV6 update is already available here on XDA. If you're rooted, you should bump TWRP and flash ZV6 through recovery, rather than accepting the OTA. If you think you might want to root, you shouldn't take the OTA.
As long as I've had Android phones, this advice has been widely given: Don't ever accept an OTA if you're rooted, at least until you know for sure what the effects will be. Rarely are they good.

WHAT HE SAID.....if I hadn't been clumsy... I wouldn't have had the problems I did...thanks to MrJ0087 for getting me a solution to bring my phone back from Brick-dom!

hallo! a slip of the finger has murdered my phone. OTA update. ive already tried the stuff i normally do with flashtool for oops moments. but its not working for some reason. and my poor little g3 boots right into twrp. any suggestions? someone help my baby come back to life!!!

Why would they do a "ZV5" update if we already have the "ZV6" it dosent make any sence. Please explain if you can.
They dumped ZV5 for ZV6. OP title was never updated.
