Spend few days with locked LS991 on ZVI:
-System.img (zvi_system 1.58 GB) from FEGuy didnt work- stock on logo. ROM Helper didnt onen it too- got error.
-Made backup stock ZVI system.img on my phone - 4.25 Gb, but cant copy ot to PC to rewrite build.prop. Any reason?
-Use WindowsLGFirmwareExtract-1.2.6.1-Release to get system.img ftom ZVI TOT - 258 mb-didnt work- stock on logo. But ROM Helper could open it.

Well i managed to rollback from ZVI to zvd.tot via lgup...ZVI has same ARB 4 and then dd switch unlocked gsm ZVDsystem.img from user Alex_XV6700 .

Guys are who pulled system.img from zvi to ls991?
The unpacking method does not work. The second way that the system.img throws off the phone also does not work, since this file can not be copied anywhere on the phone, for further unlock.

Way late here, but for what it's worth, you'd need to unpack the system.img I posted from the .7z archive before flashing it; it's just a jumble of compressed data otherwise. Should extract to a full-size image, which can then be flashed.

I don't actually own a G4 anymore - just got curious because I ran across a Sprint ZVI G4 being sold as GSM unlocked and wondered if any progress had been made here.

If anyone's interested, I could throw together a simple unlocked system.img similar to Alex_XV7600's ZVD image, although I'm not sure how long it'd actually take to upload on my current connection. Also don't really know the benefits, seeing as ZVD images work on a ZVI phone, and I don't know what the changes amount to.

ZVI Root

This is for both of you downgrade is not possible and root is even farther If you have to have root Pick a different device.

So, I was looking around for a ZVI Sprint LS990 3G TOT (rooted last night) for full factory revert, just in case something important did not work if I try a new ROM. Then I realized that this information might be helpful for people running ZVI on Sprint G4.

The links below might be helpful on how to easily and safely root that should work on the Sprint LG G4 running ZVI.

The process should be similar, with the correct files/filenames/locations/etc. substituted for the G4 on ZVI in order to achieve root.

It shouldn't be too difficult to try and test, assuming you have a Sprint G4 handy, which I do not.

Regardless, I was hoping this information would be helpful for anyone in dire need. Good luck everyone, and thank you for all your hard work!
