guys, let's say we got our pie update, ok? if I am to make the upgrade through OTA is it ok with an unlock bootloader?

So I'm still on stock, but I can't install OTA updates, which is to be expected since I have an unlocked bootloader, and TWRP. But I'm wondering if that will make an upgrade to Pie impossible without waiting for a custom ROM to come out? Or will I have to relock the bootloader to get it?
