You're right, it is Japanese - "htc_ocnuhljapan"

But why would this only affect the capacitive buttons? I mean what is in these ROMS that isn't compatible that the stock ROM has? Is there anything else that's "broken" and is there a plan to "fix" it with a ROM update?

In the meantime, i'm trying to find the RUU so I can flash back to stock. Looks like my OS as reported by "fastboot getvar all" is 3.37.454.1 yet the google sheets here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gid=2137120377 as per xda post https://forum.xda-developers.com/u11...6#post72425196 doesn't appear to list this.

Hi. My dev options seem to be disabled but when I try to tap build number it says it's already in dev mode. I'm particularly interested in the select mock location app setting which is unselectable.

I dunno what the person above is saying but if you flash directly you'll end up with a phone that can't make calls, and can't use a lot of other phone-based functions.

However you can flash the "Oreo Radio, DSP & Bluetooth (TWRP Flashable)" in the OP before actually flashing the ROM itself to avoid having to downgrade with a RUU.

Is this method as compatible as a complete Pie--->Oreo downgrade (reliability/functionality wise)? Thanks for any info. Have a fully OTA updated U11 and unsure of which route to take.

EDIT: when making the initial pre-ROM flash Nandroid, I misread the OP and swiped to allow modifications before I made the backup. How critical an error is that?

EDIT 2: Finished flashing the ROM, all looked fine. The phone rebooted once by itself on first post-ROM-flash boot, before booting up into the "Welcome" screen. Expected behaviour?

Apologies in advance for the extreme newbie questions, and many thanks to anyone kind enough to help!

For whatever reason 20.2 wouldn't work, so I rolled back to 20.1, but I tried the latest 20.3 update and now it works just fine.
