Could we potentially get an update log going in this thread? I find it would be very interesting and useful to know about updates

I updated with the zip and had to flash the bok3 kernel to get it to reboot.
I was lucky after waiting for the "reboot", the screen went blank for several minutes at this time I pressed the power button and was brought back to ss splash screen which is how I got back to recovery to flash kernel. Not sure what happen. I think it flashed OE1 ss kernel, before I tried the bok3.

When you flash it for the first time in recovery you still have to flash the kernel to boot back to rom then once you do that it will work. If it doesnt work you need to open install safestrap and manually install it

Thinking about flashing this but had a question. Is there a way to flash a different kernel than the bok3 kernel since it automatically flashes this kernel upon exiting safestrap? That's the only thing holding me back right now. Thanks for this.

Easy peasy.

Thank you for this. Nearly 24 months since this phone's release, and we still have development. Not bad for a "locked down" device.

I also dont see a hyperlink to download the zips. Where is the download for The LP Recovery Control Center?
I found the most easiest way and very reliable is to manual install from the zip.
    1) Download this zip - Lollipop_Safestrap_Reboot_Extended_PM_PB1.zip
    2) Extract the content and copy 4 apk files in the zip file to your sdcard:
    system\priv-app\flashfire (Flashfire.apk)
system\priv-app\LollipopSafeStrap (LP Recovery Control Center apk)
    system\priv-app\Safestrap (Safetrap install apk)
    system\priv\SafeStrapReboot (Safestrap reboot apk)
    3) Manual install by run each apk. Once done you should only see 1 app installed which is LP Recovery Control in your phone app draw. Open the app and you will see many options for your needs. That's it.

Do you need to have an unlocked bootloader for this?

I just came over from jkruse's Root Guide (https://xdaforums.com/verizon-galaxy-s5/general/root-method-og5-ok3-t3290370)
I flashed the Deodexed zip from step 11 and everything is great so far, and step 12 says "After flashing any rom I would head over to my Safestrap Thread and flash the latest version of Safestrap"
So I assume you don't need an unlocked bootloader?
Nope, SS was before those that had the applicable chip were able to unlock it [emoji3]
