Additional Features:

The HTC Wildfire S (codenamed Marvel) was originally designed and released on GSM networks. Later, CDMA variants were added (marvelc & marvelct) and released as model A510c. The HTC Wildfire S was HTC's last ARMv6 phone.

Warning: GSM and CDMA roms are NOT the same, flashing a ROM meant for a different model may result in a brick!

The HTC Wildfire S runs Sense version 2.1 with Android 2.3.3/2.3.5 by default, the HTC Wildfire S (both GSM/CDMA variants). There are unofficial releases of CyanogenMod 7, 9, 10 and 11 for this device and ICS-based AOKP Build 36-38. There are roughly 116 ports/custom ROMS for the HTC Wildfire S that are downloadable from XDA-Developers.

In terms of battery life and performance, ROMs can be ranked as follows [1]:

  1. Stock ROMs (Android 2.3.5)
  2. Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwitch) based ROMs (compromise between speed and features)
  3. Android 4.2+ - based ROMs (features may come at the cost of lag and shorter battery life)

Link2sd (or int2ext+ or int2ext) scripts are used to solve internal memory limitations.

It is impossible to gain s-off on a GSM Wildfire S without special hardware (XTC clip), but you can unlock the bootloader and flash new ROMs via adb. [2]

Latest Radio version is 15M [3]
