LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8.0.0 (Oreo), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Working:
  • Boots
  • RIL (Calls, SMS, Data)
  • Wifi
  • Bluetooth
  • Camera (Photo, Video Recording)
  • Audio, Video Playback
  • Hotspot

Not Working/ Bugs:
  • Permissive SELinux

Workarounds:
  • Battery drain, lag and Heat.
    - Install Kernel Auditor and go to cpu tab and set cpu governor to interactive for both cluster and go to io sched tab and set io scheduler to bfq.

Installation:
(For existing users, a clean flash is recommended.)
  1. Requires Unlocked Bootloader & a custom recovery
  2. Place ROM & Gapps in your virtual SD
  3. Reboot into Recovery
  4. Wipe Data/Factory Reset
  5. Wipe Dalvik cache
  6. Wipe System
  7. Install the ROM zip
  8. DO NOT REBOOT
  9. Install the Gapps zip (optional)
  10. Reboot

N.B. Official LineageOS builds are unrooted, if you want this feature back flash su/ magisk (arm64) then enable root access from Settings -> Developer options.
Unroot is even easier, just flash "su removal" package available at the previous linked page. (not yet implemented)

You are my hero.
The video playback seems to work just fine for me. Nevertheless, thanks.

Second Impression.
Rom is lightning fast, faster than nougat. You just have to install the right g-apps. The only time it lags is when first booting up, the boot animations seems to have a framedrop for about a minute and then you're good to go. Almost stable enough to use as a daily rom. The audio playback works fine, i'm using sony's music app port by Pexomod and unofffical open-gapps aroma.

Nice work But, im confused a bit. You say we use [ARM] root file, but Swift is ARM 64.🤔
I also can't find the link to the root file, though I've grabbed one from LOS website, hope it's the same one.
Anyway, great job, been eagerly waiting for oreo.✌

Maybe he has made a mistake on writing the thread. The ROM is 64bit by the way on linegaeOS website u will find only su zip for 14.1 . i rooted it with magisk 14 via twrp.
