Pocket Mode integration into tap/swipe to wake has been started. Infact, initial bringup has been done, and its functional already.
Here's how it will work : When pocket mode is enabled, it will use the proximity sensor to detect if its covered or not, i.e whether proximity sensor detects something within its proximity. If it is covered, it will disable the touchscreen, which should put the device to deep sleep and hence promoting battery life. If it does not, it will enable the touchscreen to listen for touches and usual routine for tap2wake will follow.
Note that Proximity sensor will keep on running all time when screen is off (and ofcourse when only pocket mode is enabled).
If enabled, this should be in favour of the following situations :
When device is in pocket.
When the phone faced is upside down.
If flip covers is used, it is probably the best add-on to the existing tapwake feature.
It would be great if I could get some testers to test this thing. Interested ones may PM me. Thanks.
Try using a higher minimum frequency (like 384Mhz).
