My dear fellow mobile phone techies, did any of you find a solution for the auto shutting off in Sony Xperia M5? It is frequently dying and won't switch ON unless I connect it to the charger cable?

This issue become big news in Taiwan. Sony Mobile Taiwan announced consumers can replace defective m5 with new m5.
I have already got new phone for 1 week, and this bug has not presented so far.

That is cool. I hope they replace world wide.

The solution would be select GSM only. And turn off data network. This will somewhat solve the problem for some people.

they removed battery copper sheet both from battery and from phone assy :

Quote:

Deleted all the notes regarding the Battery Copper Sheet 1 and the copper
sheet on the top side of the Battery Assy since Battery Copper Sheet 1 is
deleted and no copper sheet is attached on the top side of the newly
improved Battery Assy.

here is picture of old, flawed battery and copper sheet under battery on phone assy :

looks like replacing a new phone isn't a good idea.

Sony Mobile Thailand doing the same way as Taiwan too. many people visited Service Center and still have battery lock issue.

They got a new phone but didn't know it comes with new battery or not.
