Guys i need a flashable zip for services.jar for Xperia P i mistakenly deleted my services.jar and my phone wont start !!! please help :crying:

If you can find a kernel with CWM that has adb it would be possible to recover, otherwise you will have to reflash.
Ahh flashbale zip you can't make yourself? What firmware version?

Rooting st25i 6.1.1.b.1.100

Hi all!

I have spent hours, and hours before I got to the point, that i must write in the forum. I have flashed the latest ICS (debrand 6.1.1.B.1.100) on my Sony Xperia U with Flashtool. I have installed all the drivers from the Flashtool folder before I started, and I have already got PCC and SUS on my computer. It seems, that i hade all the drivers, that i needed for the operation (I have installed both my phones, and the Flashmode/Fastboot drivers). The firmware flashing went good, but this firmware has got some programs, that I don't want to. I decided to root. And there started my misery... I readed, that i must flash an older kernel, than root my phone, and than flash back the 6.1.1.B.1.100 kernel. Piece of cake... (I thought it...), but I was wrong. My problem is, that when I power off my phone, and I try to make connection with the pc via usb cabel my pc won't recognise the phone... (In Fastboot mode). I have turned on USB-debugging and Non-Market apps installation on the phone, but when I want to use Flashtool in Fastboot mode, it won't happen anything, just my phone is charging... It's working with Flashmode, but it won't work in Fastboot mode... :/ Somebody please can help me? Give me a Fastboot package with drivers or any advise? (P.S:I have downloaded a lot of ADB, Fastboot drivers, Android SDK, etc. but Fastboot isn't works... my pc don't pop up the driver installation buble, its just charges my phone. Thanks for your kindness and help and sorry for the longness/sadness/madness, and for my english! :D Have a nice day!

Of course phone cannot be detected when it's off.
You flash the kernel just as you flashed the firmware (connect in flashmode, volume down while connecting the USB cable). You need the stock kernel not a custom one, those are only for unlocked bootloader)
If you have the kernel FTF than just flash it
If not download a firmware FTF of the desired version, clear all wipes and exlude everything beside the kernel and flash.
But I am sure you can find the kernel you need in Xperia U Android Development

I hade read, that I must flash the kernel (and I know that its a sotck one, just older) in Fastboot mode. The method is: Run Flashtool, Lightning icon, Fastboot mode, a new windows appear, with lots of options. And after that Is must connect my phone via the usb cabel to my pc with Fastboot mode (Volume UP key [Volume DOWN will bring me Flashmode). Or I can just flash the kernel file via Flashmode? Btw the kernel file is .elf but I think that's not a problem. The kernel flashing will work in Flashmode? :D Thanks for the reply! ^^

Sorry for not answering, but I went deep into the thing, and finally (thanks for your advise), it worked. ^^ I downloaded the stock kernel file with .ftf extension, and i was able to flash that into the phone in Flashmode (Flashtool saw the .ftf file, but with .elf it didn't work). I was able to root then, and then I flashed back the firmware's original kernel. Thanks for the advise and your kindess, help! ^^ Still I don't know why the Fastboot mode didn't work...

Fastboot (at least fastboot flash boot) does not work on locked bootloader which you only need if you installing custom kernel.
Sony kernels can be flashed in flashmode which custom kernels cannot be.
This done for warranty purpose I guess which you just bypassed, since you can do any imaginable damage having root access.

I see. Well I learnt something new. The problem was, that in the description, that i followed it was no sign of that i can't get into Fastboot mode with locked bootloader... And I have spent hours and hours before I wrote here for some advise. If I hade knew that with locked bootloader it will not work... (or just think, that I can flash the stock kernel .ftf extension in Flashmode...) Well you gave me a lesson for life. :D Thanks for everything!

What about those of us with unlocked bootloaders?

Can we still follow this guide or must we relock the bootloader?

Is there not a guide for unlocked bootloaders?

Just to add to this. I have a unlocked rooted Xperia GO 4.0.4 6.1.1.B.1.10 and want to install CWM recovery but I get an error "ST27i is not officially supported. Have you installed CWM recovery manually"

Hi, I've a Xperia P, I've unlocked bootloader, rooted it, installed CWM, but when I try to flash a custom ROM of android 4.2+, CWM say that there's an error before the flash.

If I try to flash a ROM 4.0 CWM flash the ROM, but on boot i see only black screen, it doesn't start the OS. Why?

Can someone help me?

Sorry for my english.............

    Installing CWM Recovery

    Why do we need CWM:

ClockworkMod offers Android users with an extensive list of functionalities which the default Android recovery cannot even hope to match. Using ClockworkMod, one can install, update, or upgrade both official and unofficial ROMs (known as ‘custom’ ROMs). It also enables advanced recovery and backup methods, and one can mount the USB storage to transfer files between the device and a PC while remaining in the recovery mode (very helpful for if you have a bricked device and can’t boot into Android or if you simply don’t want to do another reboot to transfer a file you forgot). Partitioning the SD card and wiping user data, dalvik cache, and battery stats are some other capabilities of ClockworkMod.

    -dottech.org

    Installation:

It can done in 2 ways

    • Installing kernel with recovery
    • Installing standalone CWM.

    Installing a kernel with recovery:

    • For this you will need unlocked bootloader.
    • If you go through your respective device's development section, you will get the kernel with recoveries.

    Installing a standalone CWM.

    How to access recovery:

    • Click on .... i.e red marked then you will get the "Choose a folder window".Browse to the folder containing ftf file.Click Open.

      ftf4.png

    • Now connect your device to PC in flash mode.

    • That's it.

    Fastboot mode:

Used for unlocking bootloader, flashing kernels etc.

    Rooting

    What is Rooting:

Android rooting is the process of allowing users of smartphones, tablets, and other devices running the Android mobile operating system to attain privileged control (known as "root access") within Android's subsystem. - Wikipedia

    Before Rooting:

    • Bootloader unlocking is not necessesary for rooting.
    • After rooting ,your warranty maybe void!.
    • Rooting is reversible process so you can unroot.
