Seems that with the other stuff in the kernel the EAS would lead into a battery drain.
And that the AOSP is battery optimized without it.

They don't hate EAS.
It was just a decision at a time where other parameters lead to this decision.
Maybe they switch to EAS in the future.

I still don't get it.... how comes it's not included?
Why does sony even HAVE an AOSP?
Don't they use AOSP as base and then include all the sony stuff?

EAS is kernel stuff

their aosp exists only to add the hardware support.

But there is an approach to do longterm benchmarking to look how the changes may need to be implemented if they are better on the tama devices.

I wil ltest it on my device after 14. maybe if they still need my help.

Maybe here is a bug with magisk, like with sonyaosp, too.
The SELinux Policy then needs a fix or the phone needs to run in permission mode.
Otherwise it will shutdown a few minutes after bootup.

With OmniROM 10.02.2019, TWRP 10.02.2019, Magisk v18.1 and Magisk Manager v7.0 no shutdown few minutes after bootup.

I saw your post about camera in AOSP thread. I really hope you increase the pictures quality in next version

Did you noticed that location icon is always visible in status bar (visible when location is on or off) ?

Could you please tell me how to create logcat/dmesg and share me the link where to post the files on github ?

Good to hear

Just use adb on your pc

"adb shell logcat > logcat.log"
"adb shell dmesg > dmesg.log"

and the link should be in the first post.

Using HMP instead of EAS is a cheap and lazy solution because including EAS requires that a specific energy model have to be created as well as optimized for making things even work out as intended, when HMP is easier to apply because it's a more universal solution.

I hope that Sony shifts their direction on this matter as soon as possible and really pushes a proper tuned kernel with a optimized EAS model for their latest line-ups.

The open devices project would be happy if you help them at this open task.
