Here is a simple Xposed module that will apply native android Gaussian Blur (ScriptIntrinsicBlur) effect at your System UI Status Bar Expanded and Recent Apps panels.
This module is just a small "piece of code" from my other Xposed module for Xperia™ devices tittled: Serajr Xperia™ Xposed (LP) with 130k+ downloads since its first release!!!

This is the natural continuation of my other xposed module (JB and KK) !!

Features:
- Android 5.0.2 and 5.1
- Tablet UI Support
- Native android Gaussian Blur background effect at Status Bar Expanded panel (Portrait and Landscape)
- Native android Gaussian Blur background effect at Recent Apps panel (Portrait and Landscape)
- Fully configurable Gaussian Blur settings (Bitmap scale | Blur Radius | 3 Color Filters)
- Auto color filter (module will choose which one to apply according to picture dominant color lightness)
- Translucency Percentage
- Translucent Expanded Panel Header (Topmost Contents)
- Translucent Expanded Panel Quick Settings (Tiles)
- Translucent Notification Rows
- Runtime module settings changes (No Reboot/Restart needed)
- Hex color filter input
- More to come...

Post Compatibility
The module was developed using as its basis the Xperia Stock 5.0.2 firmware, so don't expect it to be fully compatible on others ones. I'll give it proper compatibility asap!

Yeaah, if you can just make it stock like in the lockscreen & user customizable in rest of the UI, that will be great.
Glad i could help (:
