First of all, I don't know why you use such an old rom, as there's very stable Lineage 14.1 for the Xperia V - but well: Have you already tried to install the corresponding Xposed*.zip (link is in the op) manually via recovery (cm12 = sdk21, cm12.1 = sdk22 [both arm])? Is it pure cm12/12.1 or any mods/custom kernel?

The Xposed installer is just an app and doesn't conflict with anything. You didn't specify anything about how you're trying to install Xposed or what package/version you tried.
As Klaus said, flash via recovery (if you haven't) and make sure you use the right zip. I use v87 on Lollipop and all is good.

Coincidentally, on another phone, I installed a Nougat ROM (LOS-based) along with Xposed and got the same behavior. Trebuchet was crashing and then everything else. I think some permissions got hosed somewhere. Dirty flashed the ROM and made sure everything worked. Then went back and flashed Xposed. All good.

Hello friend, first of all I want to thank you for your excellent contribution to the scene of modifications on android. The reason I'm sending you this message is that I'd like to ask you for a help, when I install xposed .zip it optimizes all the apps on the system, and I'd like some help from you to do this without having to install xposed this is because I have an app that only works when I do this complete optimization, but when I uninstall xposed it does this optimization again in only about 40 apps and my app stops working. Would you like to help me with a script to optimize all the same apps on xposed? Thank you for your kind attention.

Bootloop on Alcatel Pixi 3 4" with CM 12.1
Installing from recovery causes bootloop on this device, using cyanogenmod 12.1.
Uninstalling from recovery...

Need more info than that. No problems on my G3 running CM12.1.
Device?
What Xposed did you use? I stick with good ole v87.
You can try the UNITY installer and see how that goes.
