Because then the creator wouldn't make money. He's already stated that's why he made it and the other goofy one (exposed) and has essentially dropped support for virtual xposed. Those two are essentially for commercial use and making it open source would well screw his profits. Not to mention he can then change whatever he likes and nobody will see. (Not saying he doing so) Another reason he has seemingly dropped vx was because I caught backdoor code that was injected and quickly pulled from the repo. Here's the link of the dev stating why they won't be open source https://forum.xda-developers.com/xpo...odule-t3800947 just scroll to find the post by him. It's by no means IMPOSSIBLE to make it open source, just his decision not to. Anyways there's good and bad with closed source and open source so it's up to how the user feels about the give and take.

Can you give more details about this? There have been claims about malicious code before, but nobody provided any proof, so nobody knows what is true. Both the developer and somebody making claims like this can be dishonest/misinformed and without proof we never know who is right.

That was me that initially saw it and reported it in the other thread. XDA wouldn't allow me to upload the code that I found (no idea why) and nobody else ever bothered to screenshot or download it before the code was changed so, I let the issue go. Being around XDA for years and watching project after project get kanged or maliciously violated has really put a sour taste in my mouth with projects that pop up out of nowhere especially from people nobody knows about. I can't say with 100% certainty that it was the original dev that injected it or maybe he missed it, but it was absolutely overhauled very quickly from scratch. Not once did the developer contact me directly to even ask me anything nor did XDA so I took it as nobody really cared. Also, the sudden drop of support in exchange for the other two apps that are private is just too much of a reason flag to me but that's personal opinion. That's about all the details of it. I've since deleted everything after being harassed by a certain moderater about voicing my concerns. Win some and lose some I guess

So, we have to just believe you, which doesn't solve the doubt because you could have been wrong too.

There is another forum that I am reading where there is a simple rule: "proof or it doesn't exist". The rule is there because just too many people just say/assume something.

I don't install closed source stuff that modifies the core system, so for me this doesn't matter, but for me there is no proof that there was tampered with VirtualXposed, only unfounded accusations.

Wasn't a proper warning there, to only dip your feet if you knew how to swim? Or something along those lines?

Search for a module so you can uninstall modules from twrp, i don't know the name, but it's around here somewhere

Yeah definitely don't just take my word, I could have very well been wrong. But again, the sudden change of scraping everything and then dropping support to go to paid options just (for me) affirms I was correct. If literally anyone else bothered to even look before it was changed (which I was urging so they would have proof for themselves) then they would have seen exactly what I did.
But, it's neither here nor there now. Not to mention xposed itself is partially closed source so whatever. I have my own fork of xposed that I personally run so, to each their own. Have an awesome day
