Hello. Flashed this ROM straight from CM12 with full wipe and micro gapps. Main issue is that tablet can't see SIM card now. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Edit: problem with SIM should be result of scoprion_windy firmware installation. But when i tried to flash LTE(scorpion) version TWRP showed an error which told that im trying to flash wrong version and that my device is windy (which is not apparently). So it seems that i can't flash LTE through TWRP.

Edit2: and TWRP can think that i have windy, because i installed TWRP windy from official repository. But it's the only version available. Where do i get TWRP for LTE?

Edit3: installed this scorpion TWRP to FOTA through fastboot, now i get error 7 when trying to flash any rom.

Edit4: Indeed problem was solved by flashing right TWRP and non-windy firmware. I spend more time than i would like to admit for solving that. In the end ROM was very unstable in my case and tablet often rebooted.

SGP612. I successfully upgraded from your cm-14.1 build using TWRP 3.0.2. I flashed in a row from internal storage:
lineage-14.1-20170104-UNOFFICIAL-Lowtraxx-scorpion_windy.zip sha1sum: 6abece15341913131e34763d0547d16d489b9217
open_gapps-arm-7.1-nano-20170105.zip
Then wiped dalvik cache. Finally rebooted.

Many thanks once again. Great job. Amazing ROM :)

How? Ikeep getting an error with TWRP complaining that this package is for a scorpian_windy; this device is Z3. Then I get an Error 7, error installing zip file. :(

SGP-612 stands for Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact (8 inches) not the phone named after Z3 which has its own xda forum and build. The Z3TC SGP-611/612 models (respectively WiFi/16Gb and WiFi/32Gb) definitely belong to the scorpion_windy family.

If you are indeed dealing with the Z3TC, the error may indicate you flashed the wrong recovery build and/or version. This thread refers to the right one.

In any case, I would recommend flashing the latest official ROM and firmware using Sony Emma tool. From this sane starting point you may proceed with the Lineage guidance.

This ROM (v2) is really rock solid. Android 7.0 is really nice. This build is stable: I experienced far less crashes than any cm-12.1 nightly build I previously flashed. Battery runtimes are great by default (without doze). I would not return to Android 4.4, 5.1 or 6.x.

Thanks for the reply, I understand all that, I'm not new to this & it is an SGP612 I have. I've already done as you suggested but still get the same error, even though I successfully managed to flash a rooted Sony marshmallow zip to the device, so I'm not sure what is going on.

Although I'm not using this specific ROM, I did get the same error when I tried to flash another ROM. Turns out that I forgot that I didn't unlock my bootloader, so maybe check that out and see if it fixes your problem.

Haha, yep your're completely right. Not used the device for so long that I'd forgotten that on this one I'd not unlocked the bootloader, merely rooted it. Which means that despite all my protestations that I'm not a newb to this, noname2no was right and I made the device think it was a Z3 because of method I chose to root the tablet. So apologies to noname2no, turns out I'm still a newb after all :)

Thanks @lowtraxx for your awesome work; I am looking forward to your updates! I have only one small issue with my SGP611: when I charge it while it is turned off, the screen doesn't dim. Hopefully this was already on your radar :).

Yes, this issue is partially fixed. The screen will dim and go off once now, but if you wake it up again, it will stay awake. Still working on this.

So i'm now bootloader unlocked on my SGP612, but still cant get this to install through TWRP, keep gettting error 7 messages and complaints about this being for a Scorpion_Windy and either not a Scorpion or Z3. Think it's related to how I'm rooting the device and getting TWRP on there.

Anyone point to a good guide for getting root the rightway and getting this on to the device.

Cheers

Jim.

I used the CyanogenMod guide. You can find it through archive.org

Also have a look at the instructions in this OP

Would i be right in thinking that fast charging doesn't work either?

Fast Charging is disabled by Sony on purpose, because they fear overheating issues as far as I understood it.

It wasn't disabled in the last available stock build for this device as mine was fast charging till I updated to this Lineage build. So not sure whats going on. :)

Yeah, but stock is not a custom open source build. With stock everything is under Sony's control (including thermal management, charging voltages and the like), thus Sony takes no risks when providing open source code.

Disclaimer: Flash at your own risk! Backup your data before flashing! I am not responsible for bricked devices, World War III or your exploding cats!
Warning: The SGP611 images are not tested, but just built by me, as I do not own the device. But as the two devices are the same except for the 4G Modem, it should work. If not, please let me know.

    About:
As my beloved SGP621 was just collecting dust, I decided to try porting Android 7.1 AOSP onto it. That worked well, so I moved on to CM 14.1 and now LineageOS
And voila, with a few tweaks here and there, it works (for the most part). But this is still considered BETA, so be warned and flash at your own risk. This will most likely replace the CM14.1 from the thread here, so the Changelog will also be continued on here.

    What works:
    - Display
    - Sound
    - WiFi
    - 4G Data
    - Bluetooth
    - Camera (Taking Pictures and Video works, but focus does not work)
    - NFC (somewhat flakey)
    - LED
    - Magnetic Cover Sleep/Wake
    - Double-Tap to wake
    - LiveDisplay
    - SELinux enforced
    - FM Radio (only minor glitches remain)
    - AptX and AptXHD BT support

    What doesn't work:
    - Audio Volume has some issues (Loudest in the middle of the slider, than does not change after.)
    - QuickCharge (Implementation to high a risk [Overheating], will leave it out for now.)
    - You tell me

If your battery depletes rapidly, please disable NFC and check if it betters things. Then comment here, so I can look into it.

Flashing from CM14.1 (This should no longer be needed, as everyone should be updated by now):
If you have CM14.1 from the other thread installed, and want to upgrade, you need to take special care and follow the instructions here or you could end up with a bootlooping device. Anyways, as always, before you try to upgrade, make a backup. I repeat, MAKE A BACKUP! LineageOS is now enforcing SELinux, which leads to all kinds of complications, but makes the device more secure in the end and is well worth the extra effort needed. So lets get to it then.
First you need to have twrp recovery, as cm recovery is, for some reason we have not been able to figure out yet, not capable of installing GApps to the device. After that, flash the update.zip any way you want (via SD or sideload) and DIRECTLY after flash GApps (if you use them. If not you should be good to go). If you forget to flash GApps you will end up in a bootloop. But do not panic, it can be fixed by (you may have guessed) rebooting back into recovery and flashing GApps.

    Flashing:
If you installed the recovery to the FOTAKernel partition then, while booting, get your device into recovery mode, by hitting VolUp multiple times once the LED flashes purple. Do so until it turns orange. (If you already have another recovery installed, boot into it.)
Now select install from adb sideload and from your computer issue:
    Code:
    adb sideload lineage-14.1-(DATE)-UNOFFICIAL-Lowtraxx-scorpion(_windy).zip

    gapps:
Lineage 14.1 was tested with open gapps for Nougat 7.1 arm (nano confirmed working, others could be problematic)

Tips for better battery life (obsolete):
I installed Naptime to trigger deep doze as soon as the tablet goes to sleep. I also enabled zzmoove cpu gov and noop scheduler in the kernel options. Because of the high display brightness. This leads to me getting standby battery consumption of around 1.2% per hour (measured with GSam Battery Monitor) which is nearly the same amount I got with stock.

December patches are in, build for SGP621 is running. (Crossing fingers and hoping everything works :))
    26
@lowtraxx did you abandon the ROM? Please give us a short update. A new build with KRACK fix would be really nice [emoji4]

No, I have not abandoned the ROM. I just got my repaired Tab Z3 back last week. Also I am working hard on porting Oreo to the device. Also (real ;)) work takes precedence and the last weeks of the year are always the worst.
    25
Status-Update Nougat: I think I found the root cause of the WiFi error that plagued me the last weeks. If so, I will wait for the December Security patches, integrate them and then finally release the new version. Sorry it takes so long, but as stated previously, I have a lot on my plate currently :(

Status-Update Oreo: It is currently booting into Android, but not much else is working.
